For Circus Without Animals

We, the undersigned, support the initiative of Mr. Affonso Camargo (Lawmaker. member of the Brazilian Congress) to approve his proposition on a Law consisted of the prohibition of exhibiting trained animals for public entertainment  in circus, shows or similar. Such action has the purpose of preventing  cruelty to animals (pet, wild, exotic, natives ones, etc.) as well as to avoid the conditions of permanent danger for the community.

At present there are many circus operating with no animals in scene, such as ì Cirque de Soleil "of Canada and  "The Circo Popular of Brasilî. At the same time, we call the attention for the for the Article 32 of the Law 9.605/98 (Federal Law on environmental crimes), which in our opinion , should have its text maintained in full, as such article is a guarantee of brazilian animals protection against cruelty to animals in general. Besides, it is the confirmation of the governmental protection granted to the animals according to the Law.

Based on the above-mentioned facts, we request Mr. Affonso Camargo an amendment to the Law to be approved , by extending the protection granted for the animals as a whole, for those exhibited for the pubilc(shows in general). We also support as well any other Brazilian politician with equal proposition
