Charles, and his grandfather Prince Philip to give an example
of compassion, environmental ethics, and health to the world by
ceasing the blood sport of hunting, which has been condemned by
several religion's founders (Jesus, Buddha, Rama, Guru Nanak,
Mahavir), by St Francis of Assisi, Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe
Shelley, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mahatma Gandhi, Susan B Anthony, Vincent
Van Gogh, Yehudi Menuhin, David Rosen, John Harvey Kellogg, Upton
Sinclair, and millions of others.
Stop Canned Lion Hunting
-"Canned hunting " is the cowardly practice of killing
captive animals in enclosed areas. The animals used in a canned
hunt are generally hand fed and familiar with people; therefore,
they do not show the natural tendency to flee from humans. These
animals are tame targets. In addition, baiting and confining the
animals in fenced areas guarantees the hunters a kill. Typically,
these hunts are for the wealthy because of the high price tag
placed on each "guaranteed" kill/trophy. This type of
hunting shows an extreme lack of respect for life and compassion
for the dignity of these animals.

Fox Hunting - We, the undersigned call upon the Government
to recognize the inherent cruelty involved in hunting, that it
is not acceptable in modern society and that the vast majority
of people in this country wish to see it outlawed...

Parliament to support the Protection of Wild Mammals Bill which
seeks to end this uncivilized practice.

brutal and barbaric and call on Prime Minister Tony Blair to honor
his promise and give Government time for the Wild Mammals (Hunting
With Dogs) Bill.
For
Improved Protection of Migratory Birds - Under pressure from
French hunters organizations, the French national assembly passed
a law on July 3rd 1998 introducing a nationwide open season for
hunting migratory birds which is both far too long and entirely
incompatible with the birds biological requirements. The same
organization want to alter the 1979 European Directive on the
conservation of wild birds, which prohibits the hunting of migratory
birds during their nesting season and their migration to breeding
grounds. The hunters want freedom to hunt from July through to
February !
